A new international network of researchers

January 2009

The ICCCRA is a new international network of researchers. Its aim is to encourage cross-cultural research on emotion with a principled approach to research on affective phenomena.

The first cross-cultural project of the ICCCRA is GRID. This project aims at constructing an “Atlas of Emotion Words” based on componential analyses of emotion vocabulary.

The ICCCRA has been founded by Klaus Scherer, Phoebe Ellsworth, Ype Poortinga, Pierre Dasen, Johnny Fontaine and Seger Breugelmans.  It is sponsored by the Swiss Center for Affective Sciences at the University of Geneva.

Who can join? All cross-cultural researchers who are interested in cross-cultural emotion research, particularly from a componential emotion theory perspective, and who may be interested in the construction of an Atlas of Emotion Words based on web surveys.
